Asthma is a chronic lung disease that develops when the lungs are not able to function normally. It affects both children and adults and can lead to death. There are different causes of asthma. Below are some causes of asthma that you should know about.

Inhalers- inhalers are widely used to help people in preventing and getting rid of asthma. For example, inhalers help people prevent asthma attacks by stopping them before they start.

Pollutants- fumes, dust, and other air pollutants are some of the factors that trigger asthma attacks. As such, it is important to avoid exposing yourself to these pollutants and get rid of asthma. For instance, if you are exposed to a lot of smoke, you can reduce your chances of having an asthma attack.

Being overweight- excess weight increases the risk of having asthma. You should avoid excess weight as much as possible.

Foods and food allergies- having allergies to foods is another cause of asthma. If you are allergic to certain foods, you should avoid them as much as possible.

Asthma medication- asthma is not a disease caused by breathing. Asthma is caused by abnormal breathing patterns in the lungs. To cure asthma, you need to get rid of the problem that is causing it.

Getting the right things in your diet- is one of the best ways to prevent asthma. Some of the things that should be included in your diet are – wheat germ, zinc, vitamin B12, green tea, garlic, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Bedtime- your bedtime should be at the same time every day so that your body and lungs are rested. When you are sleeping, you can breathe deeply and avoid having obstructive sleep apnea (OSHA-nap) in your sleep.

Breathing techniques- inhaling carbon dioxide helps your body keep cool. The method involves taking deep breaths from your nose and slowly exhaling it from your mouth.

Seasonal changes- asthma usually occurs during the summer months. People who have asthma should make sure that they wear light and lose clothing during the summer season so that they do not add to their sweat glands.

Weather condition- asthma is often triggered by weather conditions. If you have asthma, you should avoid making yourself sick by being exposed to weather conditions. The weather condition should be avoided as much as possible and used as only a stop-gap measure until you are able to change the conditions that trigger your asthma.
